Salon International de l'Estampe et du Dessin 2012

Thursday April 26 till Sunday April 29 Juffermans Fine Art participates in this International fair at the Grand Palais Paris, one of the most important for fine prints and illustrated books. (www.salondelestampeparis.fr). We present a collection of works by a.o. Pablo Picasso, Kees van Dongen, Albert Gleizes, Henri Matisse, George Braque, Marie Laurencin, Tamara de Lempicka, Joan Miró, Serge Charchoune, Francis Bacon, Andy Warhol and Jeroen Hermkens.

KEES VAN DONGEN - 'FEMME AVEC CHAPEAU ROUGE' - Unique lithograph colored with aquarel. Signed in pencil. Between 1925 and 1930 Van Dongen worked on a series of lithographs of women. The prints show faces of elegant girls or ladies. The intention was to print an edition of 100 colour lithographs of 6 different images. After the printing of proofs in black, for unknown reason it was decided to stop the project. Only seven copies are known most of them completed with extensive handcolouring by the artist. Probably the rest of the edition was lost. Excellent condition. Illustrated in Juffermans 'Kees van Dongen - The Complete Graphic Work' JL 45
